The Launch of a new yacht should include a celebration with invitations for the local dignitaries, speeches, and champagne for the bow of the vessel, the guests and, of course, the gods of the sea. These days, with the world in the grips of a pandemic and various countries in different stages of lockdown, we are advised against social gatherings like launch parties so the New Hallberg-Rassy 50 has had to forego the celebration. Boat shows suffer the same restrictions and the international press have not been able to visit Ellös and test the new yacht.
Fortunately, good news will always find its way out and local video blogger Niklas Lindgren of Båtagent has uploaded a video report and in the absence of the magazines, Magnus Rassy has written his own report following sea trials of this spectacular new model from Hallberg-Rassy.
